The vets who work at this establishment are some of the most thoughtless and incompetent people to work in any type of healthcare. I wouldn't let them near any of my dogs or cats to save my life because I know these vets wouldn't save my pets' lives. While some of the support staff are decent people, it is the actual vets who make this place somewhere I wouldn't send even a mortal enemy.

The veterinary hospital in Woolmarket, MS that saved her life only charged me $500 for an emergency blood transfusion, IV fluids, antibiotics, cauterization of a wound, wound cleansing, wound dressing and blood work. The one mistake they made was in referring me to the Mandeville cons and leading me to believe my dog would undergo emergency surgery to save her leg upon arrival.

Suffice it to say, I love my dogs, and if you do too, you would do well never to go here, and to tell your primary vet never to refer people to this place.

The lazy SOBs never got around to the surgery, and in all likelihood I will be pursuing a refund via small claims court. If this vet dealt with people, the entire clinic would have been shuttered by now due to gross #negligence and malpractice, not to mention billing fraud.

My most recent negative experience consisted of a duplication of blood work already done at my primary vet (but they couldn't charge for that), a wait of almost 6 hours when there were never more than 2 other customers, and an x-ray of my dog about which I wasn't consulted, which was not indicated, and was done in an unsafe manner (any radiology study that requires sedation, as this one did, necessitates the dog or cat having had no food or water for at least 6 hours. Since they didn't ask me, they had no idea if it was safe to be done!)

Never bothered to do the surgery I drove two hours in the middle of the night to have performed on dog. Nonetheless, these scam artists billed me $3600 for "boarding" my dog for 3 days, the whole time implying that she would be in surgery "any minute" whenever I would call. I had to rescue my dog from these thieves after realizing that they were content to tell me that for as long as my credit card was absorbing the $1,000+ they were billing me for boarding.

I have had several unfortunate experiences with these people. Several years ago, my hometown vet diagnosed one of my dogs with a liver parasite he had picked up during his time as a stray before I found him. While she felt OK treating him, she wanted to send me over here to ensure nothing else was wrong and said that if his liver parasite was the only problem, they could give me the needed medications. After thousands of dollars worth of tests which they interpreted incorrectly (a fact I found out after extensive medical research), they found nothing wrong other than the liver parasite. The medication they prescribed was provided to me with instructions to give him, what I would later find out, was over 1000 times the correct dosage and nearly killed my dog. When I returned to confront them with this fact, the vet, Jessica Lin, was unfamiliar with calculating dosages based on concentration! This is something that is part of the core high school chemistry curriculum!

For what they charged me for boarding, I could have boarded her in an executive suite at the most expensive hotel in the entire State of Louisiana and still came out about $1500 ahead of where I was by the time I grew wise to the LAVRC scam.
