Worst experience ever. This is where original thought goes to die! A notarized True copy from a legal notary does not work as a document. I guess notaries are worthless! What a joke. Ok so I get you have to have the original, it felt like a game where they were going to do everything in their power to ensure we did not get a simple ID. It was like like facing the 85 Bears defense! We did beat them on the second attempt and it was sweet, almost got us at original SS card but I brought it!!! Then came the insurance even though it was not a DL I Brought that and a mortgage statement My 15 year old got his state Id!! By the way the SS card was never intended to be used as a form of ID nice how that worked out lmao!
Despite the negative reviews for this DMV, I made the trip there to transfer my TX license to LA. I had the application ready and even got a copy of my driving record as it said to bring it with you on the website. Arriving about 20 minutes before they opened there were only a handful of people in front of me but based on the reviews I expected to be there for hours....I was pleasantly surprised that I got out by 8:45am.
Worst DMV experience I’ve ever had!! The employees are highly inefficient and don’t do anything in a timely manner. They are not clear with what paperwork needs to be brought in or how it needs to be filled out. Then they look at you as if it’s your fault that it’s not done correctly. If they were a business and not a government run operation they would be shut down.
Nope, beyond slow. Line doesn't move. Didn't get to interact with anyone as I couldn't spend half the day there. Place was pretty good when I went there several years ago. Now, not so much.
The customer service was awful. The ladies were all slow and were particularly rude to the older folk. I tried to be polite when my 3 hour wait was finally up but the useless, condescending b**** behind the counter made it impossible to NOT be frustrated.
Get here early and be over prepared so that you can get out fast!!
The lady that helped me was very nice and patient when my 5 week old chose to throw a full tantrum while I was in the waiting room and had to make a bottle as they called my number. The process itself took less than 15 minutes and she even gave me the information and different between a basic license and a federal one so that I didn't waste money. They didn't need half the paperwork I brought but I was glad I over prepared. The best part, you get your license right there and then, no need to wait for it to arrive in the mail like in some states.
If I could give this place negative stars I would. I waited 3 HOURS to be seen. The ladies at the counter made lines specifically for minors and renewals, so some people walked in well after me (and others) and left well before us. I just moved from out of state and all I needed was to transfer my license. You're supposed to provide 2 items proving your residence. I brought my lease contract but printed my electric bill wrong. They refused to work with me or even let me use a computer to reprint my electric bill. As if my lease contract, a legally binding document, wasn't enough!
